Indie Series

With 3D’s largest peak in the 1980’s, many larger series and franchises participated in the gimmick. However, there were plenty of one-off and indie comic artists who had the opportunity to have their work published in 3D as well. Many of these comics went beyond the traditional panel format, and explored how 3D could push or enhance illustrations. Other indie works such as The Weird Tales of Basil Wolverton, forgo storytelling to show extant art and photography formatted for 3D viewing.
