Popular Series
In the time of Saturday morning cartoons and matching action figures, many companies were eager to hop on the next merchandise fad. While Blackthorne Publishing was most notable for their variety of popular series, other publishers also had their chance. Brand interest continued to fuel the production of 3D comics throughout the 1980s. Some of the most recognizable series being: Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Transformers, G.I. Joe, The Flintstones, and even Michael Jackson as Moonwalker. These comics often prioritized action and perspective shots, much like 3D movies. Many of them were one-offs, some were not canon to their respective series, and a few were reissues to be enjoyed in 3D.
